A Visit to the Wichita Mountains

A Visit to the Wichita Mountains

A few weeks ago I ventured down to Oklahoma for a friend’s wedding in the Wichita Mountains. There was a lot of rain — and some crazy flash flooding! — but the sun came out just in time for the beautiful ceremony. It was a magical weekend and I was so happy to be a […]

California Coast Road Trip!

California Coast Road Trip!

Earlier this month a group of friends and I met up in Los Angeles for a quick road trip along the Pacific Coast Highway. I say quick because we only had about three days to get from LA to San Francisco, and there was a lot to see and do (and eat!) on the way. […]

DC’s Snowzilla

DC’s Snowzilla

The snowstorm that hit DC in late January was in the top five DC storms of all time! During my first winter here I got to experience “Snowmageddon” (also in the top 5 — it shut down the city for 4 days!), so I’ve been expecting something similar during the winters in-between. This winter, “Snowzilla” didn’t disappoint! During the […]

It’s Fall Y’all!

It’s Fall Y’all!

Okay, so it’s actually winter now… But here is a visual summary of my fall in DC/MD! Sammie’s new hat! October 2015, Oakland, MD We went back out to the Wild Yough cabins that I highlighted this past summer. This trip we stayed in a cabin called Cortina and got to visit Swallow Falls State Park since Sammie was […]

Sugarloaf Mountain

Sugarloaf Mountain

One of my favorite places to visit outside of DC is Sugarloaf Mountain in Comus, MD. Whenever I want to get away from the busy city, Sugarloaf is my go-to spot since it’s only an hour away. Here are some shots from a couple of visits this past summer. © 2015 Allie Nambo

Lavender Festival!

Lavender Festival!

During my last Texas trip I got to attend the Blanco Lavender Festival — right outside of Austin — with my mom and aunt. As someone who starts their day off by spritzing lavender mist all over them and then ends it by drinking lavender tea (and maybe engulfing their pillow with more lavender mist), I was very, very stoked about this festival. 🙂

Texas Trip

Texas Trip

Earlier in June I took a quick trip down to Texas to visit my family. Although I got super sick and was stuck in bed for half of the trip (and then some back in DC — it was terrible…eek!), I had a wonderful time before that visiting some of my favorite people and places back home.

Western Maryland Adventure

Western Maryland Adventure

Last weekend I ventured out to Western Maryland with Jordan and Sammie. We stayed in this cozy little cabin right along Garrett State Forest. It was so great to get away from the city and not stare at a computer for three whole days! This was my first time staying at Wild Yough and I couldn’t haven been more […]

A Studio Visit

A Studio Visit

I’ve been spending a lot of time with Jordan at his and Dan’s studio out in Mount Rainier, MD recently. I finally charged my camera, so here’s a peek into their creative space! Jordan’s works in progress. More work in progress. Sammie likes to hang out in the studio too. 🙂 Hanging out with Dan’s giraffe! Studio […]
